"Under the current situation on the Korean Peninsula, dialogue and negotiation are fundamental to resolve problems. We hope all parties stick to the principles of the September 19 joint statement, restart the six-party talks as soon as possible, push forward the denuclearization of the Peninsula, as well as seek the long-term stability of Northeast Asia. China has always maintained the international nuclear non-proliferation system, trying to create peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula, and promoting dialogue and negotiations," said Hong Lei, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman.
